Student Literacy

Mullins High School Student Literacy

At Mullins High School we promote literacy not only among our students, but parents and families as well.  We realize that in order for our students to be successful we need literacy training not only within the school setting, but also at home.  This summer we implemented a summer book challenge which provided our students with novels of their own to read over the summer to strengthen their reading skills during their break. Our goal is to gain parent involvement of all of our students. Within our reading plan we have established classroom libraries to be implemented within every classroom regardless of content.  It is understood throughout Mullins High School that reading is pivotal in ensuring student success. Therefore, Mullins High School has set forth strategies that will improve reading and writing in all content areas.
